The Author hereby grants Publisher a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, and sublicensable right to a) Edit the Work to prepare it for publication; b) Reproduce, distribute, display, duplicate, administer, and store the Work in the Journal and other publications prepared by the Publisher or on the Publisher’s behalf in any media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to electronic publications, online repositories, and third-party information providers; and c) Prepare abstracts, summaries, abridgements, and translations of the published Work, which are hereby included in the “Work” definition under this Agreement.
Author grants Publisher first publication rights in the Work and hereby confirms that the Work shall be published by the Publisher first. All foregoing licenses in this Agreement are exclusive to Publisher prior to Publisher’s publication of the Work. Author confirms that all previous or pending public disseminations of the Work, including without limitation any publications or acceptances by other journals and disseminations via websites or conference proceedings have been disclosed to the Publisher.
In the event Publisher declines to publish the Work, Author shall promptly be notified and all licenses granted shall terminate.
Confirmation and Indemnity. Author confirms he or she is the sole author of the Work. Author has the right to convey the foregoing licenses. Author confirms the Work does not infringe any third-party copyright, privacy right, publicity right, or any other proprietary right. In the event the Work reproduces any textual or graphic material that is the property of another for which permission is required, the Author confirms that he or she has obtained or will obtain written copyright permission from the copyright owners and retain said permission in his or her files to be retrieved when necessary and shall give proper credit to the original source in the Work. Author confirms the Work is not defamatory or otherwise unlawful. Author shall defend and indemnify Publisher against all claims based on any alleged breach of Author’s confirmations in this Agreement.
Creative Commons. The Work published in the Journal will be distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (CC-BY-NC International 4.0). Author herein grants a CC-BY-NC license in the Work. By granting a CC-BY-NC license, the Author retains the ownership of the Work, but gives others explicit permission to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and copy the work as long as the original source and Author are properly cited. Any use of the Author’s work under this Creative Commons license would be for non-commercial purposes. No permission will be required from the Publisher or Author. This Creative Commons license is separate and distinct from the license to Publisher referenced above.
